Christian Life is Community Life

As Christians, we are called to share our gifts of skills and time and capacity to support both St. Ignatius of Antioch and the neighboring area.

Getting involved is a great way to meet folks at St. Ignatius and to consider all sorts of ways to participate in the community.

Ministry Groups

Ministries allow you use your gifts and interests to support our parish and the community. Here is a list of the current ministries at St. Ignatius:

Leader, Sheri Mellen

God's Will Resale Shop is our largest ministry. It provides free and low-cost furniture, clothing, and household items to the community. Also collaborates with local organizations to provide items to those in need in Lake County Illinois and Kenosha County Wisconsin.

To volunteer for our largest Ministry, email Sheri at godswillresale@gmail.com

Interim Leader, Karen Leverenz

Our ministry group is focused on attracting new members to join St Ignatius, especially younger and families, while retaining current members.

We develop programs, communication materials, and outreach activities that welcome and engage the community of Antioch and the surrounding area.

Leader, Linda Mizwicki

Provides engaging learning and education programs for children and youth. Activities aim to be relevant to their lives and help them grow in understanding and connection to Jesus, while also being aligned to the teaching of the Episcopal church.

Leader, Mother Dawn Stary

Christian formation is about lifelong learning and education. For each of us, formation is the process of growing in relationship with God, self, others, and all creation. Through learning, we are transformed into the people God wants us to be. The adult formation ministry team seeks to create classes and programs that address the theological and spiritual needs of the congregants of St. Ignatius Church.

Leader, Mother Dawn Stary

Our ministry seeks to provide an enriching and worshipful liturgical experience for St. Ignatius members and visitors. We draw from diverse resources as approved by the General Convention of the Episcopal Church.

Leader, Diane Cinnick

We support existing and new events, including special events and celebrations where food and refreshments are offered to care for, retain, and attract new members of the SIA community. We also actively collaborate with other ministries, espcially Membership, Formation, and God’s Will, to support their efforts with hospitality.

Leader, Tim Donahue

This ministry oversees and maintains the exterior and interior areas for the campus of St. Ignatius. They provide assessments and plans for maintenance and replacement of SIA building and grounds assets, including buildings, equipment, and utilities.

Leader, Mark Leverenz

Supports the Parish Treasurer’s responsibility to provide information and decision tools to the Vestry, and ensures proper stewardship and protection of SIA’s financial and capital assets.

Leader, Mother Dawn Stary

The vestry is a group of elected leaders who provide oversight, leadership, strategy, and decision making for the Parish of St. Ignatius of Antioch. The vestry acts in alignment with the guidance and canons of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago and the bylaws of the parish.

Community Partners

In association with God’s Will Resale Shop Ministry, St. Ignatius of Antioch has active partnerships with community agencies to support care for those in-need.

The partnerships help to effectively identify and qualify families and individuals who can benefit from the furniture, household items, and clothing available through donations to God’s Will Resale Shop.

Our current community partners include:
